
Andrew Edwards is a Chicago-based film and theatre composer, hailing originally from Urbana, IL. He received his BA in Music Composition/Theory from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his MFA in Film Scoring from Columbia College Chicago. Amongst his many and varied careers, he has been a music teacher at a New England boarding school and a sound engineer in NYC. As a composer, Mr. Edwards has written the scores for countless short and feature films, including: Message from the East (2009), Bailout! (2011), The Confession (2011), and many others. As a dance and theatre composer, he's written the original scores for two CTT Tap Operas: Love Taps and Little Dead Riding Hood, as well as two full-length musicals, and a "Macabaret" show, produced Off-Broadway. His concert piece, The Glacier Sequence, premiered at The Kennedy Center in February of 2011. As a TV composer, he's currently scoring the series "Trep Life", highlighting Chicago's entrepreneurs, and "Dorkumentary TV", an ongoing comedy series. He also writes music for Big Finish's line of original Doctor Who audio adventures for the BBC, and his music can be heard in any number of commercials, TV shows, trailers, and web spots. As a life-long performer, Mr. Edwards has music directed dozens of musicals, including "Into the Woods", "Fiddler on the Roof", and "Little Shop of Horrors".
