Duets for My Valentine

Synopsis

Chicago's longest-running Valentine's Day dance show is under NEW MANAGEMENT and better than ever!

In a bold attempt to bring romance back to the concert hall, Chicago Dance Crash has purchased the rights to this Chi-town staple and will be presenting it at the Park West Theatre. In a new venue and under new management, “Duets” will feature some of the city's hottest dance companies and crews around.

An evening of less culture, more Romance!

“Duets for My Valentine” was established in 1998 not only as a romantic alternative to 'dinner and a movie,' but also as an exciting, concise opportunity to witness a handful of Midwest dance talents all in one night! Showcasing passionate, affectionate, and even light-hearted duets from your favorite ballet, contemporary and hip hop companies, the night will provide you with 90 minutes of romance in action, a hilarious and thought-provoking emcee, cushy booths and seats, a full bar, and an in-house after party offering up the chance to dance with the performers themselves.

Performing companies will include...

DanceWorks Chicago, Elements Contemporary Ballet, Breakdance Chicago, Chicago Tap Theatre, Same Planet Different World Dance Theatre, Joel Hall Dance Company, Culture Shock Chicago and many more!

Awarded the Reader’s Choice as “Best Dance Company” for 2009 by the Chicago Reader, Chicago Dance Crash has been described as "a compelling mixture of ballet, breakdancing, hip hop, martial arts and dangerous acrobatics into seamless alignment" by the Chicago Tribune. Now in our eighth season, Dance Crash continues to offer a variety of innovative performance and entertainment options to all audiences, year round. Having successfully produced the 4 year-running “KTF” dance contest series, Crash is expandsing its producing efforts to the mainstream concert crowd with “Duets,” promising to uphold its reputation, stated in Newcity Chicago's Decade Dance Review, as being “one of the best, artistically, in town.”

“Duets for My Valentine” is a one-night event at The Park West Theatre, located at 322 W. Armitage in Chicago’s Lincoln Park Neighborhood, a short walk from the Clark, Broadway, and Armitage bus stops. The performance is Saturday at 8pm, immediately followed by a free afterparty from 9:30 to 11pm. The event is limited to 700 seats. Tickets are $25.
