LoveTaps

Synopsis

Chicago Tap Theatre will be presenting its first ever tap story-show where the audience will determine the fate of the tale. “LoveTaps” explores the concept of lonely singles searching for their soul-mates through internet dating, and what happens after those couples meet their on-line prospects in-person. During intermission, the audience will be able to decide which characters get to be paired up with each other, creating entirely different performances from night to night.

Part story ballet, part romantic comedy, and all rhythm, this is the eighth full-length story show created by CTT. Even more exciting, this will be the second CTT Story Show with all original music by film composer Andrew Edwards, who composed music for CTT’s “Little Dead Riding Hood” last year. With a cast of twelve male and female dancers, all of whom excel in both tap and other forms of dance, the story flows through moments of intense action, irresistible humor and heartfelt emotion. Choreographer and Director Mark Yonally not only creates a whole new take on internet dating – he also creates a unique new spin on the art of tap dance.
