Audiences have made CTT’s annual warm and witty celebration of Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s and the Winter Season part of their holiday tradition for over a decade. Enjoy many of your favorite holiday songs in this inclusive celebration at the beautiful North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. New this year is direction from Jump Rhythm® Artistic Director Billy Siegenfeld, bringing his unparalleled ability to convey emotion and humanity to Tidings. Sweet Tap Chicago

CTT brings tap dance back to one of its historical roots, the jazz club. This will be 100 minutes of joy, as CTT works with Chicago’s finest musicians to create all-new pieces to music from or inspired by Chicago. CTT is excited to bring this show to the elegant Mayne Stage, where every seat has a great view of the action! Lynn Shapiro, critic for SeeChicagoDance called last year’s edition, “an overall immensely entertaining program.”

Offbeat History of American Tap Dance

The history of the great American art form of tap dance comes to life in this all-new show from Chicago Tap Theatre. Audiences can expect dances that represent major periods and styles of tap, from flashy acrobatics to smooth ballroom influenced moves and more. Among the premieres will be a new dance from tap legend Sam Weber, a Broadway tap style piece from 4-time Tony Nominee Randy Skinner and the return of Brenda Bufalino’s masterwork, Flying Turtles.

17th Annual Gala

Chicago Tap Theatre’s Board of Directors and Host Committee are looking forward to celebrating 17 rhythm-filled years with you! Join us for an intimate evening as we honor the tap dancer most directly responsible for the technique employed by Mark Yonally and the dancers of CTT, Sam Weber!  This internationally-recognized tap performer, choreographer, educator and soloist will be there to accept his award in person.
